M. Hopkins, in ‘The Planetary Bargain’, has put forward the proposition that the natural environment should be regarded as a “stakeholder” in companies. Examine this proposition, explaining the meanings of stakeholder theory, and analysing the main ethical issues which Tesco must consider in relation to it.
